Description

Weighing in at much less than a wheeled bag but packing in the same body foam and material the Rhino surfboard travel bag is perfect to have in your corner as you step into the ring with the airline check in attendant. This bag has 10mm foam protection designed for airline travel. Large exterior pockets with drainage will keep the crust off your boardshorts and the smile on your face. A sewn in divider provides the perfect separation to keep wax from switching boards. Need a place for your stash?  Throw it in the secret pull out "storage" pocket. Don't worry about salted zips on this bag; heavy duty molded non-corrosive zippers will keep the movement smooth for the life of the bag.

This bag will fit 1-2 boards up to around 20.5 inches wide by 2 and 3/4" inches thick. Slightly wider boards will fit if they are thinner. A wider/thicker board will easily fit if you are only taking one board. If both boards are larger than this see our Fish/Hybrid  or longboard style Rhino bags.

Best bag I’ve had

"For a compact bag you can’t beat this one. Super durable and the exterior pocket is just icing on the cake."

3rd Bag 4 years

"This is my 3rd bag in 4 years. My boards take a beating either flying in the back of a truck in Costa Rica. Best bag on the market"

Pro-Lite Rhino Travel Bag

"I don't usually take the time to write product reviews but this item deserves an exception. It's rare that a product is better than advertised, but that's exactly the case here. Bought the bag for a trip to PR for a 6'1'' board and 5'11'' board. Both easily fit into the 6 foot bag I had ordered. Fins and leashes stayed secured in the outer pouch. The heavy duty zippers on the bag made opening and closing easy. Also, the velcro patches on the bag made it just a little more compact, when necessary. Lastly, the shoulder harness came in handy when moving through the airport with multiple bags. This is a quality product and I would highly recommend one."

Perfect travel bag

"I was surprised at how easy it was to travel with. Very light and not bulky, can also fit two boards with fins"

Nicole P. (5/5)

Perfect

"Perfect for my 6’0 short board and 5’6 fish (Surftech DMS gherkin to be specific) with plenty of room for extra stuff like a towel, wetsuits, mosquito spray and other over 3.4 oz products. Nice internal ID pocket and external accessory pocket and shoulder strap stash pocket. Really well designed. I’m 5’3 and female and had no problem getting thru CBX setting it on top of my rolling carrry on. It was easier than a luggage cart actually. (Perched on rails on top, leaning against the rolling bag pull up handle bars) Thanks Mika (sp?) for helping me pick the correct size bag. Spot on. I even used slit pipe insulation on the rails and a cardboard cut out as overkill protection. Prolite has never let me down. Mahalo!"

First travel bag

"I just went on my first surf trip to HI and needed a good bag and glad I purchased this bag. Watched many videos and reviews of different bags with similar characteristics. Worked well and the materials feel very solid and boards were secure. I have a cycling background and nothing worse picking your bike up at baggage claimto have something cracked. Same concept here. I like that they’re local and you can see they really have a passion for their craft. You can see it in the materials and construction. All the bells and whistles and practical. I used some extra padding in the nose and tail and also packed a 2mmvest, 2mm jacket, 8 boardies, my 6 year olds life jacket, wax, two sets of fins, fin pulled, shortie wetsuit, thick towel, leash, two rash guards and used the Channel Islands Snuggie for double protection (Alaska 30 bucks one way). Didn’t use hardly any of the crap I packed other than two boardies 🤪. Scored fun waves - wish I got the smuggler but the wife was already sweating my gear purchases as of late. My rational was to make an investment and don’t let cost drive my decision. Certain gear can’t be compromised to save a few bucks. Would of liked to see a few differ t color options 🕺. They sent me a free fraction pad too. Overall exceed expectations and a fan of this company."

Q&A

Will a 6’8 Seaside and Beyond fit nicely in the 6’6 bag? Thank tou.
You would want to go with the 6'10 size but that board will fit in the shortboard rhino template if it is the only board.
I'm looking to buy this bag to bring my 6'10 and 6'2 short boards on a trip. They are both about 21 inches wide, maybe a little bit under. Will they both fit in the 7' bag?
Yes, if these are standard shortboard template surfboards that are less than 3 inches thick they will both fit in the 6'10 size. If both boards are closer to 3 inches thick with more volume the fish/hybrid style would be a better fit.
I'm wondering if you could fold this up when there are no boards inside and be able to check the bag as regular size? is it folded up when you ship it out to the customer? I'm buying for a gift and trying to decide if I should have it shipped to me or to the gift recipient?
Yes, this bag can be easily folded. We ship these Rhino style bags in a 28x28x6 inch box.
What are the dimensions of the 6'10" Rhino travel bag? I am looking for a bag to fit a 6'10" funboard that will satisfy Delta airlines new rules for avoiding boardbag fees, which is 115 linear inches (Length+width+height). Any chance this bag would work?
All our travel bags are cut around 3" long. So this bag would measure 7'1 long. The depth of this bag is 3 inches at the nose and about 7" deep at the tail.
What is the maximum width of sufrboard that will fit into the 6'6" PRO-LITE RHINO SURFBOARD TRAVEL BAG - SHORTBOARD?
The bag is cut 24" wide at the side wall. The max allowable width per board depends on how many you are taking and their overall volume. Taking one board could easily fit up to around 22-23". Taking two boards they would both have to be narrower at around 20-21.5 depending on board thickness. Boards wider with more volume should go in our Fish/Hybrid Rhino bag.
